ALHFA -- SMB3 -- Second Half of Season (Team Post)

In the majors, teams usually look at where they are in the standings at the All-Star Break and think, "How can we get better?" As we take a look at how our second half shaped up, you will see there were some moves.

...But not a lot.

As you may recall, after the first half of the season, Humble Bregman was leading the Comerica Park Division, followed by Custer Custards. In their remaining 81 games, Custer Custards came back from being five games behind to win the division, with a league-best 90-72 record. Not only that, but they shifted a -17 run differential to another league-best +59.

Humble Bregman remained in the top two teams in the division, as well as solidifying the second-best record in the league at 88-74. Following them in the standings were Wood Chips, Athens Process, and Home Run Homer.

---

Over in the Tiger Stadium Division, Mikey's WARmongers held onto their top spot finishing at 85-77. They were also the only team in the division with a positive run differential at +43. Throwin' Skubals was not far behind, finishing one game back.

Big Cats stayed in the third spot, but Bichette'$ Creek leapfrogged over Brown Water Trash in the standings.

The top four teams in the league will advance to the playoffs. Division winners take the top spots, followed by the next two best teams as wild cards. That gives us these top seeds:

  1. Custer Custards (90-72)
  2. Mikey's WARmongers (85-77)
  3. Humble Bregman (88-74)
For the final playoff spot, we needed to go to a tiebreaker. Two teams finished at 84-78, Wood Chips and Throwin' Skubals. However, with a run differential of +47, Wood Chips advances as the fourth and final team.

With the teams all set, our playoff bracket looks like this:
